Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner Review!

05:31

Well, it has certainly been some time since my last post! A week and one day, according to my calculations. Oopsies! In my defence though, I have been in Brisbane for the past week galavanting with the fam, so please excuse me!

While I was over there though, I managed to snatch up a Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner which I have been looking for for MONTHS! I bought one probably around 4 months ago on a whim when I couldn't find Maybelline's Line Stiletto (which I later found out had been discontinued - wehh!), and it had just been released.

And? I loved it!! The pen had a flexible felt-tip end with just the right amount of ink, the colour was bold and black (and matte, which I like) and didn't smudge or budge an inch, even after hours of use. The very fine tip (0.5mm to be exact!) made doing winged eyeliner a piece of cake, and enabled even a perfectionist like me to get into all the nooks and crannies to create the perfect straight line. The packaging is solid, and the pen itself was light and comfortable to hold, so application was easy-peasy!

However, about 2 and a half months later of solid eyeliner usage, the felt tip did begin to dry up and so I set out on a quest to behold myself a new one.

Everywhere I went it was sold out!! Every Priceline, every chemist, every pharmacist, everywhere that I could find who sold Maybelline products had sold out completely. I was gobsmacked! I guess I wasn't the only one who seemed to love the product.

I began to give up looking for it in stores, and was contemplating buying it online. At this stage, I was using the semi-dried up Master Precise liner to outline my winged look, and then used L'Oreal Telescopic eyeliner to fill it in, I loved it that much!

And then I walked into Coles to grab some groceries in Brisbane a few days ago, where a small Maybelline collection caught my eye. I thought there was no harm in having a teensy weensy little look...

THERE WAS ONE LEFT! As you can imagine, I snatched the eyeliner up quick-smart and kept it very close and safe. I probably resembled Smeagol and his "Precious" from LOTR!

However, I have found that this second Master Precise eyeliner isn't quite as good as I remembered it to be. It's still fabulously easy to use and doesn't smudge, but the colour isn't quite as bold as I remembered. In fact, it comes out just a little bit sheer this time around. I find I have to go over it a few times in order to achieve a truly black colour. But? I still love it! I can still create the winged liner to my desired effect. For the price ($14.50 AUD) it is very much worth it in my eyes :)

Note: In this photo, I would like to acknowledge that yes, yes I am in my Pj's, and no, no I didn't realise it at the time. Obviously I like to make my debut appearance on my blog in style ;)
