Clinique Moisture Surge Extra Refreshing Eye Gel Review!
23:02
So, I have a bit of a confession to make... I have never used an eye gel before in my life. I'd honestly never really felt the need to use one before! Of course I'd always wanted to try some out, but I ended up just spending my money on other beauty products that I thought I'd enjoy more. My mum received the Clinique Moisture Surge Extra Refreshing Eye Gel as an extra after purchasing something online, and gave it to me as she has loads of other eye products (I seem to owe a lot to my mum in revealing new products to me!).
Despite not having tried any eye products before, I have to say I'm pretty taken with this one! I'd always thought that eye creams would be too thick and creamy for me, as I have quite oily skin and my under-eye area only really suffers from a bit of puffiness and blue-y tones. So not a whole load of hydrating is needed in my case.
But this product being a gel as opposed to a cream is perfect, as it's not too heavy or too thick. It's very light and refreshing, and applies beautifully; you only need the tiniest little drop, as a little bit goes a long way! It is the perfect amount of hydration for me.
It sinks in very quickly, so there's no need to wait for an extended period of time before continuing on with your routine, if applying in the morning, or having it rub off on your pillow, if applying at night.
It feels silky smooth once absorbed, and it has definitely helped my under-eye puffiness! And with this, it has helped the look of how my concealer sets, which is a bonus! Occasionally my concealer sinks into the little lines under my eyes that happens as a result of the puffiness, so this is a win-win in my books.
I haven't noticed a difference in the blue tones under my eyes, but I'm okay with this if I can now cover them more easily! I've heard of people who pop this in the fridge before using it, which I think I'm going to have to try! That would be very refreshing indeed!
The product comes out of a little nib, so there's no scrounging around in pots or anything like that, which is a tick in terms of hygiene!
I would suggest this product for those who aren't looking for a very rich product. I would say it's more appropriate for the warmer months or for those who don't need much hydration around their eye area.
This little baby is also quite pricey, averaging at around $25 for this little 15ml tube. However, as aforementioned, you don't need a lot of product so it should last you quite some time!

Have you tried this product before? Do you use eye creams, and if so, which product do you use?
Happy Friday! :)
