Mother's Day!
01:30
Yesterday was the most gorgeous day! The sun was out to play, and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. It got slightly chilly as the day went on... but for the most part, it was absolutely perfect weather for Mother's Day!
My mum specifically said she wanted nothing but a nice breakfast, but my brother and I thought it would be a nice touch to get her some of her favourite flowers too. We bought her some potted ones, so she can plant them in the garden!
My brother had a bit of a late morning, and sleepily agreed to set the table and wash up if I cooked, which was totally fine with me! I am definitely not a dishes kinda gal. So I set to work, cooking up a typical special occasion breakfast in this household; eggs, bacon, grilled tomato, little sausages and baked beans.
This Mother's Day was particularly special as it's most likely our last one together as a family for quite some time, with myself jet-setting off to England and who knows where my brother will be in a year's time? So, naturally, I whipped out my camera and snapped away.

Mum's favourite flowers, Chrysanthemum's.

Lachie, our little vacuum, waiting for anything that drops.
We sat outside due to the beautiful weather and enjoyed our breakfasts! Although, I wasn't feeling the hot breakfast vibe so I cooked myself up some wholegrain oats with cinnamon, chia seeds, a little dollop of peanut butter and some home-made poached quince. It was delish!
Tasty goodness.
Lachie also had a bit of a treat, gobbling up some left over bacon, which he seemed to love...

Giving a happy, thankful wink... I think.
Next up was checking the lotto! Unfortunately we weren't winners this time around (SURPRISE) but we have high hopes for the next round ;)

After a day of watching my brother clean up, relaxing in the sun and frolicking in the park with Lachie, we sat down to play a game of Kitty Poker! If you've never played this before, I highly recommend it! It was great to have the family all sitting down together, just chatting and having a good time. We hadn't done something like that in a long time.

Brother doing the cleaning up, muahaha.
I ended up making a few dollars too, woohoo! Gotta save up as much as I can before London, right? Even if it is all in 10c and 5c pieces... Usually I suck when it comes to any card games, ESPECIALLY if they involve moolah! So I was feeling pretty chuffed.
All in all, it was a great family-orientated day. How did you spend your Mother's Day? Or if yesterday wasn't Mother's Day where you live, do you have any traditions or plans for when the day arrives? :)
Happy Monday!

It was a fabulous day! :D And over here we just call that a "big breakfast". Haha, there might be some places that call it as such but for the most part that's what we call it!
