My Magical Garden

05:25

When I was little, I used to spend most of my time out in the grass and the dirt and the flowers. I loved being around nature! I used to immerse myself in it. My favourite place? My backyard! In my mind, it was one of the most magical places I knew. My wild imagination could conjure up all kinds of wonderful and mystical things.

I remember I had a fuzzy kind of tree at one of my early homes, and in this tree lived a little village of fairies. I used to love climbing into my neighbours mulberry tree and gobbling up all the delicious berries (only returning home with a mouth smothered in juice... hmm, it didn't take long for my parents to figure out what I'd been up to!). I loved watching the bees flutter around on the rosemary bush, I loved watching the ants climb up the gumtree. I also spent quite a lot of time pondering over why figs looked so much like brains. It was a mystifying place for me.

Over the years, I've found myself losing sight of this old love of mine. Recently, as I was procrastinating on my uni work, I decided to venture out into my backyard again. I hadn't been out there for the sole purpose of enjoying it purely for what it is in forever. There's so much beauty and detail that I'd forgotten about, and I simply had to whip out my camera and take some snaps!

My sleepy little man, in the dirt... typical.

I have a newfound love for my backyard. I'm definitely going to spend more time out there from now on, that's for sure!

Do you love being out in the garden too?

P.S A beauty/fashion related post will be coming next!
